BUDDIES can enjoy a modern art extravaganza when the Decade exhibition comes to town.
Decade will be staged at Paisley Museum, from Friday, January 15.
It will showcase an eclectic collection of contemporary artworks gathered over the past 10 years.
Paisley Museum has acquired a significant collection of contemporary art since the beginning of the 21st century.
Most of these works have been purchased through the National Collecting Scheme for Scotland (NCSS), made possible through major investment from the National Lottery, the Scottish Arts Council and thanks to partnership working with the Contemporary Art Society. The NCSS continues to be successful in ensuring more works of art by contemporary artists and craft makers with international reputations can be seen in museums and galleries acros Scotland.
Through the NCSS seven major museums and art galleries, including Paisley Museum and Art Galleries, have been able to acquire over 100 important new works of art for their permanent collections.
In Paisley you can see major works by Claire Barclay, David Shrigly, Enrico David (runner up of the Turner Prize 2009) and Anya Gallacio.
From painting and video, to photography and sculpture, an exciting and mixed collection of contemporary art collected over a decade complements and challenges the historic collection at Paisley Museum.
The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, January 15, and admission is free.
