‘Tess’ reckons Saints have six appeal

DUTCH defender Jeroen Tesselaar reckons a win over Inverness Caley Thistle tomorrow would be a massive boost in St Mirren’s push for a top-six finish in the SPL.

The Buddies only have nine more SPL games to play before the league splits into two sections and they are currently one point adrift of the top six.

However, the likes of Dundee United, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and Inverness are all keen to finish ahead of the Paisley club.

And Tesselaar is determined to bag all three points in the Highlands to send out a clear message to St Mirren’s rivals that they mean business.

He said: “I think we can get points from our next few games.

“We’re only a point away from the top six, so anything is possible.

“I think we can play in the top six and there are a lot of points to be won in the last nine games.

“It’s always tough to play in Inverness but I am confident we can create chances there.”

Tesselaar, 23, is one of many St Mirren players nearing the end of their current deals and he admits no talks over a new contract have taken place as yet.

The Dutchman said: “Hopefully, I will hear something from the club soon. I’m happy here.”
