Cup clash will be screened on Sky

Saints will bank another cash boost as their William Hill Scottish Cup quarter-final clash at home to Celtic is to be screened live on Sky Sports.

The Paisley club will now benefit from additional TV revenue, as well as a bumper crowd, when the SPL leaders come to town on Saturday, March 2.

Kick-off is being brought forward to 12.45pm to accommodate TV coverage.

The Buddies earned their place in the last eight by recording a 2-0 win at home to St Johnstone at the weekend, with Esmael Goncalves scoring both goals.

Now they will be hoping to shock Celtic for the second time this season, having already defeated the Hoops at Hampden in last month’s League Cup semi-final showdown.

Meanwhile, last night’s Clydesdale Bank Under-20 League fixture between St Mirren and Hibernian was postponed.

The match had been scheduled to take place at St Mirren Park but was scrapped due to the wintry weather conditions, amid concerns that the playing surface might be damaged.

A new date for the fixture has yet to be confirmed.
