Cyclist killed in lorry collision

20:25, Mar 17 2013

A cyclist has died after he was hit by a lorry on a busy road, police said.

The incident happened on the westbound carriageway of the A90 near to Grange between Perth and Dundee in Tayside.

The 42-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Ninewells hospital in Dundee but his injuries proved to be fatal and he died a short time later, said police.

Officers are carrying out inquiries and have urged anyone with information to contact them.

They would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the cyclist on a blue bicycle travelling towards Perth before the collision. In particular, any lorry drivers who saw the cyclist and perhaps had to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
