Disappointed Danny Lennon reckoned Saturday’s heavy defeat to Ross County was one of the worst displays he’s witnessed during his two-and-a-half year reign in charge at St Mirren.
Lennon believed the mentality Saints showed at the weekend was not what he expected from his troops.
He said: “From the standards we have previously set at this football club - and the proud history that we have - that’s one of the worst performances I’ve seen.
“We certainly shot ourselves in the foot midway through the second half, with the second goal especially.
“But what really frustrated me, along with the individual errors, was our mentality.
“It changed and we allowed that second goal to affect us.
“It was a group of players that I didn’t really recognise today and it really rips me up inside to say that Ross County wanted it much more than we did.”
