Dorman does Well to get award

Nov 19 2009

by Paul Behan, Paisley Daily Express

MIDFIELD maestro Andy Dorman will today be rewarded for his stunning performance against Motherwell in the Co-operative Insurance Cup last month.

For the former New England Revolution ace has been named as the tournament sponsors’ Player of the Round after helping St Mirren dish out a 3-0 defeat to Motherwell in the quarter-final clash.

Dorman, 27, played a key role in the Buddies’ victory over the Steelmen at St Mirren Park.

It was his free-kick that led to the opening goal, scored by Michael Higdon.

Jack Ross made it 2-0 in the second half before Dorman’s influence was again to the fore when Motherwell skipper Stephen Craigan could only turn the midfielder’s low cross into his own net.

Dorman will be presented with his Player of the Round award at St Mirren Park this afternoon.

It will cap off a memorable week for the midfielder, who was called up to the Wales squad for last Saturday’s friendly win against Scotland.
