Saints star Lee Mair is hoping surprise package Esmael Goncalves can leave Aberdeen shell-shocked when the teams meet at Pittodrie tomorrow afternoon.
Goncalves is making quite a name for himself after bagging four goals in his first three appearances since joining the Buddies on loan from Rio Ave during the January transfer window.
And 32-year-old defender Mair reckons the fact the Dons won’t have faced the on-form hitman before can work to St Mirren’s advantage.
He is also tipping playmaker Paul McGowan – who missed St Mirren’s 4-1 SPL defeat at the hands of Aberdeen back in November, due to a shoulder injury – to produce the goods at Pittodrie.
Mair said: “We didn’t have these guys the last time we played Aberdeen and I’m sure they’ll be able to cause some problems for them this weekend.
