Fears grow for missing 12-year-old

15:25, Jan 14 2013

Police have said they are concerned for the safety of a missing 12-year-old boy.

James Gilmour was last seen at his home in Victoria Road, Dunoon, in Argyll at around 8pm on Sunday.

He failed to turn up on Monday at Dunoon Grammar in Argyll where he is a first-year pupil.

Strathclyde Police said the boy may be with a friend and urged him to get in touch.

Inspector Paul Robertson: "Understandably there is great concern for his well-being and safety given his age, and we would urge anyone with information on his current location to get in touch with police.

"James has gone missing for a short time once before however. At that time he was traced safe and well at a skatepark in Greenock. He is known to frequent the local skatepark in Dunoon also.

"There is a possibility that James is with a friend at the moment, and I would urge him or his friends to get in touch with police to advise us that he is safe and well."

James is around 5ft 6in and slim with short brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be wearing a green hooded top, jeans and light-coloured trainers.
