Full steam ahead for Danny's boys

Feb 8 2013

by Paul Behan, Paisley Daily Express

Buddies boss Danny Lennon has urged his players to maintain their forward momentum when they head north to face Aberdeen.

St Mirren go into tomorrow’s SPL clash at Pittodrie having enjoyed arguably their finest week since Lennon took over as manager in 2010.

A shock 3-2 win over Celtic in the Scottish Communities League Cup semi-final was followed by a 2-1 SPL victory against Inverness Caley Thistle and a 2-0 Scottish Cup success against St Johnstone.

Now Lennon is hoping for another positive result in the Granite City.

He said: “I think there is potential for us to do something special this season.

“We’re hungry for success and it’s up to us to keep pushing and keep our momentum going.”

Meanwhile, a new date has been arranged for St Mirren’s forthcoming SPL game at Kilmarnock.

The Buddies had been due to face Killie at Rugby Park on Saturday, March 16, but the game had to be postponed as the Paisley men will be in League Cup Final action against Hearts that weekend.

The match has now been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 3, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
