St Mirren have cooked up another top flight accolade after the pies on offer at the Paisley stadium on match days were voted the best in the SPL.
In recent years, the Buddies have won the SPL Family Champions award for their dedication to making a family match day experience as good as it can be.
They’ve also won Best Community Initiative awards for their passion in reaching out to children and young adults in Renfrewshire.
This time, though, it’s the quality of the pies they sell at the stadium that has had a judging panel of football fans and journalists licking their lips with satisfaction.
The tasty treats, manufactured by Pars Foods Ltd, in Glasgow, and supplied by Sports Catering, were voted Gold Medal winners in Scottish football’s top tier at the Scotch Pie Club Awards.
In total, 48 football club pies were judged as part of the competition.
And on hand to receive the award from Douglas Scott, chief executive of the Scottish Meat Traders Association, were Rosalind Carr, of Sports Catering, and Brian Sarafilovic, managing director of Pars Foods Ltd.
The presentation took place during the half-time interval of St Mirren’s recent SPL game with Motherwell.
