Innes praises ‘cool’ Barron

ST Mirren’s Chris Innes has hailed team-mate David Barron for his ice cool temperament in a pressure-cooker situation. Innes reckons youngster Barron’s ability to handle the heat against Rangers on Saturday proves he’s got a great future in the game. Barron played on the left side of midfield but also doubled up to help out the back three during Saturday’s 0-0 draw with the Light Blues. And Innes believes ‘Div’ typifies the spirit within the St Mirren Park dressing room. He said: “The one thing about ‘Div’ Barron is that he’s a very level-headed young man and I think he’s got a fantastic future in the game. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT “I don’t think he ever gets fazed. He’s still learning his trade and he’ll be the first one to admit that. But we have a great blend of youth and experience in the club and that kind of bounces off everybody. “We go to Ibrox and we go to Parkhead and perform week in week out, so the young lads like Barron should be given credit.”
