Esmael Goncalves said he won’t be too hard on himself over his current lean spell in front of goal.
The on-loan Portuguese youngster was an instant sensation after joining the Buddies last month, scoring four games in three games.
However, his attempts to add to his tally were thwarted in the last two outings against Aberdeen and Hibs in the league.
But Isma isn’t getting uptight about failing to find the net in the past two matches.
He said: “Two games without a goal but I’m okay. I just work hard in training and the goals will happen.
“Things are going well.”
Goncalves revealed how he is adjusting to life in Scottish football just fine.
He said: “It is difficult in a new country but I like British football.
“It’s fast and physical, the attacks are direct and it suits my style of play.
“For now, I’m here and I’m happy.”
Goncalves has two years to run on his current deal at Rio Ave and is in no hurry to sort out his long-term future.
He added: “I’m very happy and, at the end of the loan, we will see what happens.”
