“We have been advised that he is capable of playing in the SPL, so the idea is to run the rule over him this week and make a final decision at the end of the week.”
Mikita has played 15 times for his club’s youth side, scoring on three occasions.
Saints chief executive Brian Caldwell confirmed Mikita is just one of a number of players the club has considered in recent weeks, as Lennon tries to bolster his options ahead of the second phase of SPL action.
Caldwell told Express Sports: “Danny has some great contacts throughout Europe and has used one of them to pinpoint Patryk.
“He spoke to someone at Legia Warsaw and was told the player could perhaps do a job in the SPL.
“I then got in touch with my opposite number in Poland and we did the deal for Patryk to take part in a week-long trial period.
“The people at Legia were great to work with and I would like to thank them for the way they went about their business – it was first class.”
Caldwell added: “It’s now up to young Patryk to impress the manager over the course of the next few days.
“If he does so, the chances are we will take him on loan until the end of the season, although that decision will be down to Danny.”
