Missing marine: fresh appeal issued

17:25, Mar 20 2013

Police have issued a fresh appeal for the public's help in tracing a marine missing for 10 days.

Ralph Hebden, 32, is based at Arbroath's RM Condor and was last seen at the town's Morrisons supermarket on March 11.

It is believed Mr Hebden, originally from Liverpool, then headed to Victoria Park and the Arbroath cliffs area for a run.

Tayside Police have been "overwhelmed" by the public response to appeals but are missing potentially valuable bits of information.

Inspector Ally Robertson said: "I would appeal to dog walkers, joggers, anyone driving their car in the area and indeed a canoeist who was seen at the waterfront in the area of Victoria Park at about 11.50am to come forward.

"If you were there tell us. Don't assume that you know nothing that could help or didn't see anything that could be of assistance. It is possible you have a piece of information that could help progress inquiries.

"Call us and let us decide what information is or isn't of value."

Mr Hebden is 6ft 4 with a muscular build and short, cropped fair hair. He was last seen wearing black trainers, dark blue or black jogging bottoms, a blue fleece and a black hat.

His pregnant wife Sarah pleaded for him to return home as she revealed she is due to give birth within days instead of early April as planned.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
