15:25, Jan 29 2013

Police searching for a missing teenager have a new confirmed sighting of him on the night he disappeared.

David O'Halloran, 18, has not been seen since leaving a night out in Stirling on Friday January 18.

He got into a taxi near Dusk nightclub around 1am and was dropped off near Stirling University.

Central Scotland Police have now discovered CCTV footage of him walking in the nearby town of Bridge of Allan.

Inspector Pat Scroggie said: "We have CCTV in Bridge of Allan which shows David crossing Henderson Street, which is the main road, at 2.19am on Friday January 18. He is seen to then walk along the road in the direction of Keir roundabout.

"David may have appeared unsteady on his feet. We have carried out extensive searches in the grounds of Stirling University as well as gardens of residential houses in Bridge of Allan.

"We are keen to hear from anybody who was in the Bridge of Allan area between 2am and 3am on the day. We are also keen to hear from anybody who may have seen David walking."

A Strathclyde Police helicopter, police divers and dogs have been brought in to help with the search.

Mr O'Halloran is 5ft 5in, slim and has brown hair with blond highlights. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a black and green checked shirt on top, slim jeans and black trainers.

Mr Scroggie said: "We are extremely concerned for David as this is totally out of character for him. When he went missing the weather was extremely cold and it has remained wintry."
