Pedestrian in hospital after crash

A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car.

The 35-year-old pedestrian was struck by a black Honda Civic in Newhouse in Stirling, near the junction with Bellfield Road, at around 4.10pm on Friday.

She was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, where where her condition is described as serious but stable.

The road was closed for around three hours to allow a full collision investigation to be carried out.

Central Scotland Police are appealing for witnesses.
