The death of a man whose body was found in a flat is being treated as suspicious by police.

The body of the unidentified man was discovered at a property in Beechwood Drive, Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire at around 1.50am on Friday.

Police were alerted to the scene after a member of the public raised the alarm.

The area was cordoned off by officers as they carried out their enquiries.

"A police investigation is ongoing into the death of an as-yet-unidentified man within a flat in Beechwood Drive, Alexandria on Friday January 4," a spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said.
