Robbo looks for cracks in Celtic’s armour

Midfield ace Jon Robertson is hoping the pressure of being red-hot favourites for Sunday’s cup clash will cause Celtic to crack.

The Parkhead giants managed to pull off their own ‘mission improbable’ earlier this season when they defeated the mighty Barcelona in the Champions League.

However, the boot will be firmly on the other foot at Hampden this weekend, when the Hoops will be expected to brush the Buddies aside.

And 23-year-old Robertson reckons St Mirren can use that to their advantage.

He told Express Sports: “If we’ve got nothing to lose, perhaps we can go out and play with a bit more freedom. We can throw off the shackles.

“We’re long odds to beat Celtic but, if we play well collectively, I’m convinced we can get a result.”

Robbo, who only joined St Mirren last summer, is aware of the Paisley club’s miserable record against Celtic in recent years but is hoping the law of averages can come to their aid.

He added: “Let’s face it, we are due a victory over Celtic and it has to come some time.”
