St Mirren midfielder Jon Robertson has returned to former club Cowdenbeath on a one-month loan deal.
‘Robbo’ has struggled to nail down a regular first-team place since joining Saints from the Blue Brazil last summer and gaffer Danny Lennon is keen for him to get some more games under his belt before heading back to the Buddies for the final part of the season.
Lennon, who brought Newcastle United midfielder Conor Newton to Saints on loan during the January transfer window, said: “Jon is off to Central Park for a month and I believe it’s a good opportunity for him to help his old club while getting valuable game time.
“He has done absolutely nothing wrong here and is developing the way we thought he would but the competition for places has become a bit fiercer of late.
“I’ve told him he still has a big future at St Mirren and I also said that, if he had any doubts about going back to Cowdenbeath, then he shouldn’t go.
