Sharp-shooting St Mirren stars found an unusual way to hone their skills ahead of their return to SPL action ... by signing up for the Sky Sports Crossbar Challenge.
The test of skill, which features on the broadcaster’s hugely-popular Soccer AM, involves players from clubs across the UK trying to hit the ball onto the crossbar from long distance.
And the Sky cameras were at St Mirren Park this week to see how the Buddies fared.
Last night, Saints manager Danny Lennon told Express Sports: “It was good fun but I don’t want to give too much away prior to the show going out.”
You can see the St Mirren players’ performance for yourself by tuning into Sky One at 10am today.
Meanwhile, Lennon is hoping the Saints faithful will respond to the cut-price admission offer for today’s SPL game with Ross County.
He said: “If it works and there’s a bigger attendance, then maybe we can look at bringing prices down as a whole.
“I’m sure that every club in the world, if they could afford it, would allow their fans to come in for free but we also have to remember that it’s a business we’re in.”
