Saints to honour superfan 'Toshie' with minute's applause

Jan 19 2013

by Paul Behan, Paisley Daily Express

St Mirren superfan Jimmy McIntosh will be remembered by the Paisley club ahead of today’s SPL game at home to Ross County.

A minute’s applause will be staged for the legendary Saints supporter, who died earlier this month at the age of 90.

The Buddies have agreed with their counterparts at Ross County, as well as broadcasters Sky, who are providing live coverage of today’s match, to hold the special tribute shortly before kick-off.

Jimmy’s family will be guests of the club this afternoon.

Scores of Saints supporters attended Jimmy’s funeral last week, with many of them wearing black and white scarves in honour of the man who was known to his friends as ‘Toshie.’

Jimmy suffered bleeding on the brain when he fell outside his home in Gallowhill, Paisley, on January 2.

Sadly, he failed to regain consciousness after being rushed to the town’s Royal Alexandra Hospital and died in the early hours of the following morning.

Jimmy’s family revealed that his ashes were to be scattered at the stadium where he loved to watch his heroes in action.
