Saints striker Sam Parkin reckons this weekend’s clash with Ross County is of huge importance.
The towering hitman knows that victory for St Mirren will put clear daylight between the 10th-placed Buddies and the Staggies, who sit 11th in the SPL table.
Saints are four points clear of their Highland rivals, but County have two games in hand, so Parkin, 31, is well aware that all three points are vital.
He told Express Sports: “It will be our first game after the break, and it’s doubly important as Ross County are just below us in the league, so we’ll certainly be looking to take maximum points from that one.
“As players, we don’t have a points total to aim for. It’s not something we focus on but I’m sure the meticulous staff at the club, who prepare us for every game, will have one.
