Tayside clash is put back 24 hours

Feb 12 2013

by Paul Behan, Paisley Daily Express

St Mirren’s forthcoming SPL game away to Dundee on Tuesday, March 5, has been put back 24 hours.

The SPL announced last night that the match will now take place at Dens Park on the night of Wednesday, March 6.

Kick-off time will remain the same, 7.45pm.

The reason the game has been delayed by a day is because the Dens Park club has an important Scottish Cup quarter-final clash with City neighbours Dundee United to negotiate on the Sunday.

Danny Lennon’s side hold the upper hand when it comes to playing the Dark Blues this season, as they have already registered two victories over Barry Smith’s men.

Back in August, Saints secured a 2-0 SPL victory over Dundee thanks to goals from Kenny McLean and Sam Parkin.

And in the reverse league fixture, Saints posted a superb 3-1 win over Dundee back in November.

On target for the Buddies that day were Steven Thompson with a goal in either half and Dougie Imrie, with a strike late on.
